After many years of online-only retail we opened our very first bricks and mortar store in 2018 in the beautiful Southern Highlands town of Moss Vale, to showcase our fabulous and unique toys, games, puzzles and gifts on the high street.
In 2020, we were then fortunate enough to be presented with an opportunity that was just too good to turn down, and you will now find The Vintage Toy Box toy shop permanently located inside the fabulous Dirty Janes Canberra emporium in Fyshwick, Canberra, along with over 100 other fantastic independent stall holders (the best in vintage, the unique and the bold!).
During those missing years of Covid, we moved to focus primarily on online sales, and revanmping our Canberra store.
We stock a wide range of unique, classic toys and games, including wooden toys, educational toys, craft kits, play sets, tin toys and so much more. We’re a classic toy shop with a twist, and we’re guaranteed to make you smile!
Good old fashioned toys will always have a place in everyone’s hearts and toy boxes. Children love to play with simple toys (spinning tops are one of our biggest sellers!), and adults love to go on a journey of nostalgia, revisiting long forgotten memories and making more cherished memories along the way.

We aim to provide a wonderful selection of unique toys and games from all across the world to inspire your little ones and fuel their imagination, whilst taking you and them back to a long forgotten time.
We firmly believe that by providing children with traditional toys, designed to help them to think for themselves, that this will get their creative juices flowing and nurture their creativity. We pride ourselves on selling quality toys, games and puzzles that will stand the test of time. Not a single one of our toys needs batteries, and aside from the odd teeny tiny bit of connecting plastic, you can guarantee that you'll not be contributing towards the ever growing pile of plastic at the local tip.
We focus on traditional old school values, encouraging children to learn through their own imaginative play.
Every single one of our products has been tried, tested and reviewed by the toughest toy tester of all ... an eight year old boy. If he doesn't rate it, we don't stock it. Simple.
